Woods Flock

Operations

Interested in being a volunteer? The application form can be found on the sidebar in ConCat. Please note that only applications from preregistered attendees will be considered. Because we are a young event, we can use all the help we can get. Compensation will depend on the number of hours committed:

Bronze (8 daytime hrs or 4 night hrs):

  • Vol/Staff  Brunch (Friday)
  • Weekend Reg voucher for following year

Silver (16 daytime hrs or 8 night hrs):

  • Brunch
  • Tshirt
  • Weekend reg PLUS Meal Plan vouchers for following year
  • Priority invites to other Woods Flock events

Gold (24 daytime or 12 night hrs):

  • Brunch
  • T shirt
  • Weekend reg & Meal Plan vouchers PLUS provided tent or bunk space (as preferred) for following year
  • Priority invites to other Woods Flock events

Spot: no specific commitments made or hours tracked, you just jumped in to help when needed here and there? You have our undying gratitude, and will probably find yourself getting some treats and asked if you want to join the team more formally / priority invites.

Hours will be tracked by use of timesheets under purview of staff leads in volunteer’s area and turned into the Director at the daily con staff meetings.

Anything else is case-by-case, however “full-time” staff & volunteers who have demonstrated reliability receive Gold level comp plus a special gift and generally commit to working each day (Fri/Sat/Sun, plus set-up/tear down/management of their particular area).

Operations are broken down as such:

  • Set-Up (moving tables & chairs, unloading supplies, etc)
  • Registration (check-in, processing day passes, answering questions/providing directions)
  • Hospitality (helping cook, serve, and cleanup from meals, ensuring water containers are always full, checking on attendees)
  • Health & Safety (manning first aid station, chaperoning outdoor activities, helping fursuiters, and maintaining cleanliness of public areas & bathrooms)
  • Security (checking badges, watching for any Code of Conduct issues)
  • Programming (Field & Board games, arts & craft activities, group hikes, and other panels)
  • Tear Down (moving tables & chairs, loading supplies, cleaning, etc.)

Panels

Woods Flock provides a variety of programming from group hikes to games and art activities, but If you are interested in hosting a nature/outdoor or general furry-related panel, please submit your ideal when applications open.
